Heck, even the 4Runner is bloated these days, so that Cruiser must be huge.

This makes me substantially reappraise what I imagined the size of a 4 Runner to be ...

Yeah man, it’s a Land Cruiser, not a Land Sloop

Saw one of these today with a roof box and a bike rack—it was a big boi (though smaller than your average Tahoe). Always thought these were cool and it’s fascinating how many you see around really nice neighborhoods. Whole niche market for these among people who want a big luxo-barge but not the Lexus badge and/or to fly under the radar .

Officially the Land Cruiser is actually only 2 inches wider and taller and 4 inches longer. But is looks like way more than that.

How do you like it? Always understood these to be over-engineered tanks with genuine off road prowess. Think they’re a lot more interesting than most large SUVs  and would love to drive one at some point.

I have a stock FJ80 and an FJZ80 with 5" lift, plates and engine swap.

For me it’s the Toyota Quality in materials, serious off-road hardware but reasonable creature comforts.  Neither was over-powered, but both have been workhorses.  Love those trucks.

I have a 2015. It’s not as big as you think. A Sequoia is bigger. But it is very solid and planted in the road. I have bumpers and armor skids, loaded drawers in the back. It’s like driving a solid block of steel.

I was surprised how big it looks next to the 4Runner.

Yeah, it’s definitely not Tahoe sized! When I walked out from the store and noticed it, I thought, huh...that makes my 4Runner look small.

It does, especially when my 4Runner actually has a lift, even if it is just a 2” lift.

Maybe not this particular one, this one is a van/commercial vehicle, with no rear side glass.

I’ve been in one, but haven’t driven one yet. I’d love to swing a ‘16+, but they have not quite falling into my price range. Heck, I’d like a ‘15, too, but they’re still pricey for a non-100k mile example.

How's Mongolia treating you? Drop us some random DOTS if you have time. I'd love to see the crazy variety of cars on your streets up there.

Technically, this is just a short wheelbase Lexus whateveritisyou get. On the other hand, next year you’ll be able to get Flavien to send you a 1996 J9 0 Prado 3-door with with the 2.7 litre 4cyl petrol or perhaps a diesel...

We got out of quarantine 2 weeks ago and are still getting settled in. I’ve been trying to find some time to post but we've been busy.
