There are days that I really appreciate working from home. This is such a day. We’ve had about 3" of wet, heavy snow so far and the traffic is packing it down in to a sheet of ice so the roads are a complete mess. Add in the fact that most people haven’t put their snow tires on yet and you get a recipe for some serious “fun”. A job I had a couple of years ago would have put me right in to this snarl.
I’m so glad I’m at home. I just wish my wife enjoyed the same luxury. At least she works fairly close and doesn’t have to venture on to the interstate.

It’s definitely chilling on our side of the Cascades as well. The high today was 48 and it’ll drop to 29 tonight (or was that tomorrow night). Downright blustery in Skagit today, too. I feeeeeeel the winter already.

Hmmm, my wife is driving from Whidbey Island to Vancouver WA this afternoon. That might not be awesome.

It’s too early!!! The trees still have leaves! It’s supposed to be down to 12 Saturday night. Over in Montana it’s going to be really cold. The real crapper is that I haven’t blown out our sprinklers yet. I’m hoping to get it done before the cold starts tomorrow night.

My boss offered me a project in the mountains here (CO) that I declined because the last time I drove to this particular city I got stuck in a ground blizzard for hours. Well he decided to go today...and spent half the day stuck in a shopping center because the road was closed for ice. Welcome to winter!

My car was solidly frozen over yesterday. There seemed to be a very sharp change in seasons this week.

I never took my winter tires off - been working at home since mid March when Covid hit. So that’s my excuse for being horrifically lazy this year. The pisser is winter was so lame last year (southern CT) I didn’t need them.
