It’s Thursday, Oppo, one day closer to the weekend. Have a Canadair Sabre over Las Vegas some time in our sepia tone past.
Update: As facw and others have pointed out, this is not a historical photo. The Stratosphere Tower under the port wing didn’t open until 1996. Not the first time I’ve been fooled, and definitely not the last.
Update Update: It’s from a video game. Dang. Fooled the hell out of me.

Not as far in our sepia-tone past as you might imagine. The Stratosphere Tower, seen under the plane’s wing opened in 1996, so this plane presumably would have been part of heritage flight, or owned by a collector (or is a model and/or composite shot) .

Could very well be. If it is, I think it would have to be a pretty detailed ad-on scenery for an older flight sim (I don’t think there’s a Sabre model for FS2020?), but it does look weird to me (beyond being a much newer Las Vegas than the plane and tone would suggest).

It may be a composite of some sort, too.—
The Stratosphere sat there partially finished for many, many years— but this shows it in a finished state, pre-amusement attractions. Even as other sites on the strip show as unfinished, which would have been complete long before the Strat was done.
The timeline’s way off— I need to study it some more— but not to be a buzzkill

Possibly FSX with addons or DCS? Look how the road going into the strip is, its very bumpy. The foreground trees look strangely grid like too.

Yeah, I really wish Google would downrate pintrest images. Nothing about getting an image stripped of all context and often locked down behind stupid account requirements is that helpful.

I’d rather know than not know. This photo of an A-24 had me fooled for ages. This is a current warbird, that somebody photographed to look old, and did a fine job of it.
There was something that bugged me about the F-86 photo, I just didn’t bother to look too closely. Certainly didn’t catch the tower.

Still wouldn’t be surprised if they are basically the same skin, the ‘9' does look a little lower the the ‘05' so it may just be a sloppy edit (does DCS world allow custom tail numbers?)

Oh, there’s a hilarious “Only In Vegas” back-story about Bob Stupak’s long tortured history of feuding with the mob, the other casinos and the city over his self-engineered Strat tower. It sat there, half built, like the famous Seattle Freeway pic, for many years.
We’d go to COMDEX every year— “Hey, Stupak’s still hostage to the mob!”
It was stalled at 255 feet for many, many years.

I don’t know, if enough of them wanted to come down, I’m sure Sheldon Adelson could have a chat with Donny and the restrictions would be lifted (though Canada might not let them back in afterwards, which would be wise)
