Flight attendants have long held a shit ty job because it didn’t lend itself well to training/educating yourself for something better. How do you attend classes when your hours are so irregular and you’re rarely in your home city ?
I have to imagine they’re really struggling now to find something different.

... Sigh... Yeah, it’s not a good time to be in the high speed aluminum tubing business. Luckily I’ve been been give a stay of execution until May 1, but who knows what will happen there. At least it’s given me time to pare down expenses and possessions in case furlough comes.

Good luck to you. I’m sure it will be a challenging few months (and beyond), but I suspect it will come back fairly strong once we have a vaccine out for a while.
These long term forecasts always tend to extrapolate whatever is going on right now to infinity. When life is good, they’re too rosy, and when things are bad, they’re too pessimistic.

The skill set of a flight attendant translates to different opportunities though. Unfortunately it overlaps with wait staff who are in the same boat.

It has been challenging, to say the least, but we are working hard to keep things going.

I gotta say the pay made up for it. Although I worked a ton of overtime, the first 2 months of this year had me on track to make 6 figures. I'm not top of payscale either. Some senior FAs who flew only international trips and flew as much as me could make $150K. Matching 401K was nice too.
