Well most shows are cancelled for us until, tentatively, March. But it all depends...

The New York Philharmonic announced that they have closed down everything until next fall. But NYC’s restrictions are tougher than other places. Austin is hoping to have some sort of an audience in January. I think that might be a bit optimistic.

If you listen to conspiracy theories this will all be over after the election.

I think I heard at least June for Broadway. Looks like my foolishly optimistic Lyric Opera season tickets I bought back in spring will be another big donation, I’m guessing they’ll be announcing cancellation of the rest of the season any day now.
It’s going to be a very long winter .

The Austin Opera season is likewise a mess. Our January production is off, and we are hoping to be staging Turandot in the spring. We shall see. The musicians union just came to an agreement with the opera to do virtual broadcasts, so we’ll see what that brings.

Next fall? Wow. Hopefully they have savings/donors to get them through (I’m sure they do...).

I think they’ll survive, but it’s going to be tough. Same with the Met Opera.
