And it had n’t even begun to rain yet and it’s 53/161 laps. Race may stay interesting. Lots of drivers always seem to wreck out early at Bathurst.

Poor backmarker in Mustang nearly crashing on his wave-by. Glad he pulled it back. Can’t believe that first wet lap was trouble free.

Rain might be dissipating but the course is still an unknown with the early rain slickness.

There were quite a few scary twitches on the first few. Not sure if most have changed to wet tires but it’s not certain that the rain will stay.

most are on slicks still, and seems to have stopped raining.

Racing line should be pretty dry by now but if you get forced out wide you might still hit a slick spot. Dangerous combo right there. Announcers seem concerned about slippery road paint.

So this season the cars and drivers are less proven before they get to Bathurst? This is not a track you want to go into cold.

Things have really calmed down though. Drivers are more spread out by the halfway point.

far less than ideal.

You do have that big group of Mustangs at the front. I don’t have a favorite driver but I like the Holdens more. Things are spread out but close enough for some action when they really push it on the last several laps.

i’m hoping for a Holden win too.

Yeah we need to send Holden out with a one-two-three I hope. I believe they will still race as Chevys next years though. Not many manufacturers is a little worrying.

What happens if only one manufacturer backs V8 supercars? It’s so tied to Australian car production that since you apparently don’t buy enough cars bespoke to your continent that it might have to be more globalized. I really don’t know how that works.

They need to attract another big manufacturer like Toyota. Someone to make the field more varied. Right now it's just a 2 manufacturer series which is teetering on the brink.

It would be interesting to see a few different engines out there. Hopefully V8 Supercars gets a new manufacturer in the next couple years.
