Survey is out of 10. Anything less than 10 is a fail and affects people’s paychecks drastically. Go fuck yourself. Downtown isn’t scary at all, literally none of the things mentioned have affected us, our location, or our clients. She’s literally just being a cunt, or maybe trying to get something for free. We have one homeless person who’s been living in our back alley for years, but he keeps entirely to himself and I guarantee 99% of our clients don’t even know he’s there. Most of us working here completely agree that in general, shit is fucked right now but we don’t go around being cunts to people who can’t do anything about it.

“I gave them a 5 because of the upheaval in Portland bums on the streets and violence and the people in power don’t seem to want to do anything about it. The people I dealt with were great and my service was done in a timely fashion to bad that I’m thinking I may have to buy my next Mercedes in the suburbs”

Honestly that sort of attitude is a large part of why all this happened in the first place. That’s just being unfair and petty. 5/10 because I heard there was maybe some revolutionary bums out but literally nothing about my visit was affected in any way.

I only ever left a bad review at a mechanics once, because damaged my car and botched the repair. But I even preffaced that with a blurb that the work was done well and for a fair price.

The lady sounds unpleasant to deal with.

A bigger issue is these fucking surveys. Normal people do not expect that anything less than a 10 is a “fail”. In fact, a perfectly pleasant experience should LOGICALLY be a 6 or 7 at most. Average = 5, and an average experience is, well, average.

If companies expect most people to understand that they *must give* tens or that ten = average , then they should say that.

Absolutely , 100% agree with all of that. It's one is the reasons people think working in this industry sucks. Doesn't actually affect me directly, so I'm lucky there, but it does affect lots of good people negatively.

Reviews are completely useless. The only normal people who fill them out give a perfect score just to be nice. I’m of the opinion if you get most of your information about something by reports and “reviews” you’re not involved in it enough to make decisions about it, leave it to the manager below you, if you don’t trust that guy, get a new guy you can trust.

10/10 is absolute perfection, it’s unrealistic to expect that kind of score from even very good sales people more than once in a blue moon.

I think I left a 9/10 review when I last bought a car from a dealer, I sure hope they didn’t penalize my salesman for it. He was great.

Rating a business poorly because of things that have nothing to do with them makes her a cunt, especially along with the threat of taking her business elsewhere for that same reason . Yes, the system is stupid. This would be like getting pissed at subway because they wouldn’t give you a big mac, then trying to leverage them for free shit by saying you’ll go to dairy queen to get your next big mac. I didn't even mention the insanity of bringing up civil unrest instead of road construction in this context. Over half of the road leading to our shop is ripped up tight now, and surrounding roads are heavily affected; all of which makes it a pain to get to us. But no, let's talk about "bums" and "upheaval", that literally haven't affected us our our clients at all, as if we were just able to magically move our entire building or change decades of shitty city policies and culture. You know what though? Maybe cunt was the wrong word. Karen might've fit better.
