Sammy was happy to have me home, especially since she could now eat the food she dumped on the floor.

I’m really glad that Scout is the laziest dog on the planet until you encourage her.

Sometimes after a longer shift, I'll come home and Luna's all ecstatic to see me, then she'll suddenly eat the full bowl of food that's been sitting for 9 hours

We had a dog that wouldn't eat unless we were in the house and even then, rather than eat in the kitchen, he'd get a mouth full of food, bring it through to the living room, drop it on the floor and then eat it as his leisure.

That’s an impressive dispersion of her food.

My dogs have definitely thought that me eating was a sign that it wa s dinner time. Given their highly social nature I guess its not terribly surprising.

Separation anxiety. They worry you won’t be back. Then when you show back up they think “fuck yes, he’s back and I am starving .” And they eat .
