I’ve had my absentee ballot since the last week of September, but decided to see how things would play out on a local level before filling it out completely. Decided to drop it off at the county election office instead of mailing it. Spent more time in the parking lot than going inside to submit my ballot in person.
Oh, I got me flu shot today as well. So if my behavior becomes erratic, please forgive me. And if my health begins to fail me, welp it’s been real y’all!

I swear I didn’t mean to. I just wasn’t willing to wait un till the last minute or vote on election day because of the pandemic.

I’ll let it go. This time.
Seriously, my ballot is still sitting on the dining room table where it’s been since last weekend. I need to get it filled out and mailed in. I also need to get my ass over and get my flu shot. I get one every year but I haven’t done it yet this year.

I wish it was that simple to vote in advance in Missouri. Here you can only vote by mail (or dropping it off) if you can prove you’ll be out of your voting district on election day or answer yes to a series of questions that prove you physically can’t vote in person. (Like you’ve had COVID, are at great risk if you catch it, or are caring for someone that meets those criteria.) It’s STUPID that I can’t vote by mail just because I choose to. Say, for example, that I’d rather not walk into a room full of mouth-breathing dolts that aren’t taking the pandemic seriously. That sure sounds like a good reason to me. But not to the state of Missouri.

So instead I’ll be wearing gloves, double-masking, and showering immediately after I get back from voting on November 3. Overkill? Maybe. But it’s better than being dead.

My wife and daughter voted early today. Waited just over an hour to cast their votes. I wonder what it will be like on 11/3?

Indiana has most of those restrictions, but they are a little generalized and open to interpretation. I think it was late July or early August when I went online to request absentee. I got to the reason part and didn’t exactly see anything that would work (part of that was because I expected the pandemic to be an option). So I called the county election board. On purpose and probably for legal reasons, the guy I spoke with basically told me to go with what I thought was best and allow election board to make that determination once they had officially received my application.
So , I went with being at great risk in catching an illness, which is a lot closer to the truth even if I wasn’t a black man.
Not sure if absentee requests are still being honored in "Misery", but it's worth a shot to try. If that doesn't work, try early voting ASAP.

Hopefully your state has a way you can login to find out when your ballot was sent to you so you can follow up if necessary.

It maybe a shit show since finding people to be poll workers during a pandemic isn't going well.

I just mentioned I may be out of town. The older lady didn’t seem to care, just happy to do her job and keep it going. The election authority was fairly full, but no line outside. I worked out of town both elections this year and missed one and absentee voted the second one. And last Friday, the general election. And by the way I encourage you vote no on amendment 3.

Interesting thing that happened to me.
I filled in my ballot and submitted it as soon as I got it, over a week ago. But then yesterday, I got a letter from the office of Ron DeSantis (Florida’s governor) , asking me to request a ballot by mail to support the Republican Party of Florida and Trump.
I haven’t lived in Florida in over nine years, and have been registered to vote in CA since I moved here . Furthermore, it wanted me to register in Clay C ounty. I have never lived, worked, or voted in Clay.

Haven’t received our ballots yet, no hurries as WA st ate is 100% mail in. Has been for a long time.
There was a plane pulling a huge Trump 2020 flag over Seattle on Saturday, I thought “what a waste of money, he’s going to get zero votes here”.

Yeah, amendment 3 is a fun one. I would love to see donation limits lowered. But putting redistricting in the hands of someone appointed by the Governor...no thank you.

Donations only go down $100. From $2500 to $2400. It looks good, but throwing it back in the face of voters from 2018.

I'll be voting in person on election day. My state made it a holiday for the first time ever. I'll put on my mask, slather on some hand sanitizer, and fill out my Scantron.

Pritzker made it a holiday?! Nice!!! Let’s just hope he doesn’t fall like past Illinois governors by being corrupt.
As for voting on the holiday, I take it that your polling place is usually speedy? My normal spot is definitely like that, but I didn't want to take the chance.

Yep. I hope so too.
Yeah, my polling place is speedy enough that it really hasn’t been a problem voting before or after work, but I’m happy to have the day off.
The spot is also literally three blocks away.
