"BlazinAce - Doctor of Internal Combustion" (pbs)

Just came back from the work and, for the first time since April, there are no patients being treated for Covid in any of the three major hospitals in the area where I work. That’s good news right?
On the one hand, we were hit pretty hard, probably because people were basically giving zero fucks to the containment measures since, at least, late May, but on the other hand that probably means we won’t be getting a second wave, since pretty much everyone’s got it already
I guess it’s just as well, because the ER is back to its usual batshit crazyness, like this guy here, who got absolutely shitfaced and swallowed his dentures (strong images ahead)
Took us a little over two hours to pull it off his piehole under sedation and orotracheal tube, the damn thing was attached like a fishing hook, and the more he yelled and moved his tongue around, the worst it got
I freaking love my job lol

I’ve never seen someone eat their own teeth before. Yikes.

That went straight to the top of worst things I've pulled off people's cavities

Not a good list to be on top of. Or on at all for that matter.

Well, that’s not even the worst of it, this guy’s looking at a 10 day hospital stay minimum due to esophagean lacerations which, although minor, can lead to anaerobic bacterial mediastinitis, plus vocal chord lacerations which will probably require su rgical intervention.
So, there's a lesson for the night, never go drunk enough to swallow your teeth in.

Easy for you to say.

Maybe he finally pushed his wife over the edge and she finally knocked his teeth down his throat.

I’d hay he bit off more than he can chew... but how can he do that if he swallowed his own teeth...
Regardless, congrats on the first step to Covid recovery. What area are you in so I can flee Florida, where high school football games list masks as optional (no joke, I drove by one and the place was packed), and hide over there.

I’m in Southern Brazil :p We actually had some very nasty couple of months, but, because of that, I think Covid is more like Novid down here. Everyone's got it, and a hundred thousand or so died. That's kinda like what the US and UK had originally planned, we went down that route for lack of options. Hopefully that means the majority of the population is immunized

The route the US planned? I think you mean the route we’re on right now, present tense. I’m glad it came and went for you all, though that’s a high death toll in comparison to your population.
If that’s the route you went, and the US continues down the path it’s on now, it’s going to be a looooong time before we can say Covid is Novid.
