I’m surprised by all the farewell messages in this post from folks who’ve already left... That is, ahem, unusual. Albeit reflective of the time and new ownership.
But I got as far as Kristen and it’s like “wait a minute. Is she back?”.

Kinja’d with the time stamp.
They've brought back old employees for these farewell posts before. This one felt a little off though. There was less energy in it I thought. It kind of felt like the end of an era. Reflecting the underlying uncertainty for sure.

The website is rubbing at like 1/3 capacity because the herbs won't let them make decent content. So they lay off the video team, drive out the talent, and slap some more ads on the site.

Jalopnik has clearly turned into the place where auto journalists get their start, and if deemed good enough, poached by R&T or some of the other legacy publications.
