I did weigh the wheels with tyres and they were within 4lbs of the original. which seemed ok for bigger wheels. Not great. I’ll aim for a better weight option for my summer wheels.

surprising me, the Nissan TPMS played nicely with the Acura and therefore no warning lights.

I did forget to measure the centre cap size so I could shop for some non-Nissan ones though. oops

Sp eaking of TPMS, I just found out from my service manager at my VW dealership (awesome guy btw, he’s super good with communication) that my 2018 GTI does NOT have TPMS sensors in the wheel. The sensor is now part of the hub, and through German black magic, can somehow determine if a wheel is flat or not.

Since I’m putting on new wheels with new winter tires soon , I was extremely pleased to learn this!

the wife’s 2016 CRV was the first year this was true for Honda too. and hers reads more accurate. its good tech to overcome the annoyance of my earlier 2008's design

I t’s not too late! Do it now or you might find yourself borrowing a neighbors creme brûlée torch to heat the stupid things off  because you can’t find your propane torch and everything is broken. Not that that’s happened to me or anything.
