Sunrise launch of a SpaceX Falcon 9

Ending (for SpaceX at least) a spate of scrubs and aborts going back to September 29th, clear weather and compliant GSE (ground support equipment) permitted the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! of Falcon 9 !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! on its third mission: the 12th block of !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! satellites.

There’s at least 4 more Falcon launches anticipated this month, including one (possibly two) more Starlink launch, a GPS launch, NROL-108 (no patch yet!), and the Crew-1 launch of a Dragon capsule to the ISS on Halloween.

ULA has yet to reschedule its own launch of NROL-44, which has also had a couple scrubs in September

The NROL-44 mission is represented by a patch with five wolves that show the solidarity across the Five Eyes (FVEY) community. The wolf’s howl represents its capability to warn the pack as the first point of detection against threats.

Agreed. Whatever Ars Technica pays Trevor, it’s not enough.

I’m definitely wondering (despite being a Musky cynic) when the Starlink constellation is broad enough to cover the US Southwest.  Last I knew they have coverage in the US down to about 45 degrees N.

Sounds like it’s possible to use it farther south:  https://www.reddit.com/r/Starlink/comments/j3w966/elon_is_personally_testing_starlink_in_south_texas/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

Awesome picture!

Glad to see starlink 12 finally get off the ground today, I was starting to think whatever curse is on NROL44 was spreading.
