About 60/40 dirt/paved. amazing scenery, fast fun sections. Very peaceful.
I didn’t even get any pictures of the paved portion, which was every bit as pretty or more.
The best part is that it only took about 15% longer than the dreadfully tedious route through Evanston and I-80 and I got a few more MPG. (though its a far more involved route, meaning more fatigue).

I want an overland vehicle so bad. But I can’t part with $20K-$30K for a high mile, decade old 4x4.

I used to tag all my stuff “cruisin” but I haven’t in a while. Still a lot of stuff there.

You know what this route is perfect for? A WRX with a skid plate. oh man you could have some fun, both up the paved canyon (speed limit is 45 but the curves are 30 mph curves) and on the dirt (fast sections up top with big wide sweepers and lots of vis.)
DUSTY! Where you at?!

eh......... I am tempted, but I also know me and would benefit from something that doesn’t need work.
I work in Insurance. I’d rather pay more for peace of mind rather than have a “loss” (shit’s broken yo).

There’s certainly 2 schools of thought on this matter.
1. if you fix it up, you’ll know how to fix it on the trail.
2 If it probably won’ t break...it might leave you scrambling to figure it out if it does .
I admit that 1 is a little more nerve racking, but I still think the devil you know is better than the one you don’t.

I’m jealous of your trails and scenery. East coast has too many paved roads and not enough dirt ones.

We have no dirt roads near here, there are some but they are all fire roads and county/ park service only... I have to drive an hour or more to get to one, but those areas are all on fire or have been blocked off since the last major fires.

Have you seen the Land Cruiser RCR review? It debuted today. I was wondering how on point he was.

From the photos I was wondering if that was the pando, the worlds largest organism.
