Stole this from Facebook. Looks like Some one mixed up the tow rating with the payload. The max payload for that truck is 23-2700lb tops. Only reason its that high is that it’s the regular cab long box. That fork lift weighs near 4,000lbs, with the batteries removed, and 5500 with them in. That’s according to the 5 minutes of googling I did on what looks like a Hyster standup forklift. Also looks like it’s strapped down with your average 1” ratchet straps which are good for what 300lbs?
TL:DR Yikes
Bet that was a rough ride, being that at least the passenger side is already on the bump stops. Also doesn’t seem they have their hazards on.

When i’m overloaded like that, never, i start crawling along making sure i dont hit anything resembling a surface irregularity

Uhhh wow... Where are the cops when you need them, they were there to annoy me over harmless minutia, but when I see dangerous shit they are nowhere to be found.

Not sure how different the new ones are under that much stress , but I have ridden in old pickups that were loaded until the back end was all the way down. But the load was properly secured, or rather it wasn’t on wheels and held down with tiny straps. It does feel a little weird. It never caused a problem, but we drove slowly on mostly-empty roads and it wasn’t more than a few times a year .
Payload and tow ratings are partly based on what you can safely control. I suspect that a lot of trucks can carry way more than the rating , but the brakes can’t stop you in a reasonable distance, the suspension ca n’t keep you stable, the factory tires may not be able to handle the weight (especially at speed and after they get hot ) , you’re putting a lot of extra wear on the driveline so doing it repeatedly may break things prematurely , if you do it in the dark your low-beams are pointed straight at oncoming traffic , etc.

Or what you can hold without collapsing the suspension and causing permanent structural damage. This looks like it may be at that point, or at least too close to it for comfort

I would never in million years get close enough to that, to take that picture.

My bro shared this pic after I sent him the f150.

2 points for dedication but -3 for going on the highway and -2 for not tying it down (also can I take points away from whoever agreed to load that?)

The real question is how did they get the forklift up and in there? Another forklift?
