Just hit 300 million! Didn’t realize I had taken over 1st place and pulled away a little from the group. Next stop, 500 million!

As a whole we are also getting fairly close to 3 billion points! Kicking some butt! Will be exciting to see if any of us end up with an RTX 3000 series card anytime soon and start folding, they apparently put down some serious numbers.

Also now that it’s starting to cool off in some areas, I’m noticing some bigger daily numbers by some people, so that’s great!

I need to figure out how to get my 2080 Ti to those  Rev. A numbers!

I’ve had my 5500XT going again recently. Maybe I’ll even get the 1070 back in the fight, though I need to see what it does to my power bill (I wasn’t paying for electricity at my old place).

Thank you for posting this. I haven’t folded in weeks, once I discovered I was using $100/mo in electricity. I’m either going to set up a machine to fold at my school, or install solar panels on my house, or both. Looks like we’ve leveled off at 243 for team standing, which is very respectable.

What are we looking at there?

Recent ppd data collected on most current cards pre cuda boost (barring the ampere cards which are new additons )

Those 3000 series cards are RIPPERS. My 1080 is back to folding full time now that the weather has changed. The new house will let it fold without heating up a little office too so that’s nice.

What is the source? I don’t game, nor follow GPUs any. I own a 1080ti card that I bought only for Folding@home, and I organized the TEAM OPPOSITELOCK F@h team at Easter.

What is “cuda boost?”

FAH released a new client update that changed the way they used NVidia cards from OpenCL to CUDA which is more effecient some cards get up to a 50% boost in PPD. My 1050 bumped from 200k to 300k after the update.

Nice Work!

Make sure to download the new client on your rigs, F@H switched to Cuda for Nvidia cards and most get a 20-50% boost in PPD.

F@H recently updated core22 to enable CUDA compute on elligible cards, version is 0.0.13 and is automatically applied though new drivers are recommended.

Source is a more up to date community driven aggregate compared to the older gsheets.

I am likely going to need another GPU to replace the crusty one that croaked. Trying to decide what to buy.

I’d definitely give it a bit, Nvidia is still releasing new GPUs this year and AMD is about to do the same. On those released and those leaked performance boosts are huge.

This should both push down prices a bit on current gen cards or give you more total performance in next gen cards.

Right. If I can set up a server at school, then I’ll deploy the 1080 there. The 1060 seems to have died, at least where folding is concerned, so I’ll need something for the Zoom Room here at home, just to get an image on the screen. The older Precision box that you helped me upgrade, has a 950W power supply, but less room. I want to see if I can get two GPUs to run in there. I’d like to get 1.5M or more PPD ultimately. Maybe with the PUKE support, or whatever it was, I can ultimately hit 2M PPD.

My district has installed huge solar panel arrays at all their sites, so I’ve decided that I do not feel guilty about letting them provide the electrons for a folding server.

I’ve noticed a bump, but I haven’t updated yet, I will now though.

On my Nvidia card (gtx 1050) I see an almost 50% bump to 300k PPD.

Installed it right after I replied earlier, we will see how it does with my 2080 Ti.

Once more people start cranking back on their machines to fold we will move up more. Once it cools off a little more here in Oklahoma I’ll be putting my 1080 Ti in with my 2080 Ti and setting up my gaming laptop as well.

I missed out on the 3090 orders, had one ordered but the order got canceled. I’ll wait a little longer.

If I can get a server going at my school, I’ll need to buy another gpu for home use, since the crusty 1060 seems to have given up the ghost. jminer is expecting new GPUs  to be released shortly that would push down prices a bit on the used ones. I have two boxes now with thousand-watt power supplies...

I’m going to go 3080 I think once things settle down, just can’t chump up for the 90 with the new house.

Interesting, looks like they came back up, I saw 2080 Ti’s for $500-600 the day after the 3000 series was announced.

Would a 1080ti fold twice as much as a 1060? Or would a 2080 double the output of a 10 80?
