"Mercedes Streeter" (smart)

Not sure what I’ll truly name this bus but for now its working title is “Spool Bus” because of the adorable turbo noise.
Last night I fixed the exhaust. No more dangly exhaust!
Today I fixed a transmission fluid leak and got started on liberating the seats from the interior.
The fitting on the transmission line was loose. All good now!
It takes a long time to remove seats. It requires one person in the bus with an impact and someone under the bus keeping the nuts from spinning with the bolts.
At least a Camry makes a good seat hauler!
My favourite part about working on a bus? ALL THE ROOM you have to work on the engine and transmission.
Plans for the paint have changed. I’m still going to do a mint green or turquoise b ase coat with white roof. But now I’m going to have a friend paint a cool mural on both sides. :)
The one part of the bus thus far with any real rot is the emergency door, so I'm just going to replace it.

That will take a lot longer hauling the seats with the Camry than just piling them in the bus and driving it to the scrap heap to dump.

We thought about that but we’d rather have the room to work right now, so w e’re just tossing them in the dumpster for now.
It’s clear the owner left a back window open for an indeterminate amount of time, so some of the seats back there are truly terribad. I want to save roughly three seats. Two for the dining booth, one as a regular seat.

It’s great to see a plan already coming together.
Ya know what looks great with a bitchin mural....
Side pipes!!!
I also just couldn’t resist sharing a van with a Trek mural.

My personal favorite automotive turquoise is Aegean turquoise from GM
It even looks good on vehicles with a white roof.

I have thought about what bus I would want, I do like those mid size Mercedes , there is always the flatbed chop. I have seen some surfers with amazing school busses.
Or just a flatbed with a tent, you could use a flatbed in many ways.

Spool Bus is brilliant, though TurBus could work (though it sounds a bit like TurdBus which is a great name for something totally different).

Time to start a gofundme to cram 4 LT5s in there for the ultimate Spool Bus. Then we’ll show SSC the right way to record a record breaking run.

What’s the plan here? You could fit like three smarts in the back and still have a few passenger seats left I reckon.
