It’s not like you see where the sticker is supposed to go everytime you sit in traffic. Also kinda funny they're paying for the special plate but they're covering up the parts that make it special.

Well, WHAT ELSE ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO DO?

Remove the old sticker? Just slap each sticker on top of the previous sticker??

THOSE THINGS AREN’T POSSIBLE

Whenever I see things like this, I force myself to believe it’s a joke.

And if it is, it’s kinda funny.

If it’s not. It’s really sad.

My AZ plate registration came with a sticker that literally said “NO TAB ”... so I put it on the date area of the plate. I dunno.

Also, support wild WHAT?

My mom used the same plate for about 25 years before a cop pulled her over and told her it wasn’t legible and needed replaced (a week after a traffic cam scanned and successfully  read the plate). She just stacked them, perfectly every time. Sat up about a quarter inch from the face of the plate. RIP AOT6652.

The instructions with my sticker says to remove the old one first. They’re specifically made to be hard to remove. I just put the new one on top of all of the old ones until they make a little tower an inch tall on the plate.

Does anybody here actually remove their old stickers first?

I think it’s working. I really can’t tell at a glance how recent their registration is.

25 years? That’s a long time. They replate in Illinois every 10 years or so.

My BMW has only had 1 plate number for its 20 year existence, but it’s on its 3rd or 4th actual plate.

As far as I know, there’s no fixed lifespan of a plate here. It may have been less than 25 years too, but it was the OLD old style plate:

Kinja'd!!!

Wikipedia tells me this style plate was issued up to ARR5900, which means AOT6652 was this style. Issued from August 96 to mid-97, and I think she had to stop using that plate in like 2015, so that’s 18-19 years... yeah

Where is the MAGA sticker?

I did this just yesterday and it was a disaster.  The sticker was clinging fearlessly to the plate, so I did what I always do, get a very hot hairdryer to soften the sticker/glue.  Next thing I knew, the printing on the plate started coming up.  Where I am, it seems its really just a vinyl overlay on an aluminum blank and the vinyl was coming up off the bare aluminum.  I got a razor and as well as I could cut a square where the sticker goes and went ahead an removed everything down to bare aluminum.  Then I applied the new sticker to the bare aluminum square in the corner.  You really can’t tell that I ruined the plate.  Oh, and it smelled horribly.  There was a terrible smell of vinyl melty plastic that hung in the air so much that I had to just leave until it went away.

They took away our front plates a few years ago. Then they Encouraged everyone to ‘ renew my plates online or on the phone it’s the new way, its so easy’ I took the bait and tried it. The call ended with “great, you’re good to go, just come pick up your stickers.” Nobody ever did,  and now we just don’t have yearly stckers, they mailed everybody blanks to cover the expired stickers.

They did all that, but couldn’t come up with the wherewithal to mail out the stickers?

That’s... almost... impressive?

No - I just scrape off what I can (the edges invariably curl up a bit), clean and dry the area, then slap it on.  No sense doing any more than that, as far as I’m concerned.

Get this, our election just got underway and our premier (governator) who has a drunk driving conviction, had his campaign Chevy in front of the liquor store on the first day. 10 percent of of both parties candidates have dui convictions. It’s embarrassing how dumb we look. (also we’re land locked and the current govt is mildly seperatist) I was genuinely surprised that we’re not the statistically stupidest region in Canada. Also the govt minister in charge of licence plates (govt insurance) blew through a construction zone, then blew double and a half the legal limit at 11 AM. He’s still a cabinet minister. They’re going to win in a landslide.

It’s a good, simple design- why change it?

I think they actually revoked that plate. They refused my “unsafe” corvair plate request too. Aboot 15 years ago they refused to issue “dia bl o” as a vanity plate because the devil. It was going on a GMC DIABLO.

The separatist thing, though, on the other hand...

I thought this one was a joke. Like they have a blatant disregard for where the sticker goes. Normally when I see this it’s an elderly individual that has a sticker placed above the spot or on the opposite side of the plate, a very understandable mistake.

I like to think this guy is just messing with it. State law is probably pretty vauge and says something like "sticker to be affixed to rear of vehicle" or something.

T here are 4 pro vinces in the west. The landlocked middle two want out. We have the “Wexit” party. who got made fun of and changed their name to the “maverick party” and their  irresponsible hot dogging is going to get Goose killed, then Meg Ryan is going to cry.

I’m thinking that lower oil prices might put the kibosh on that.

Either that, or they’re thinking they’ll just do what Parti Quebecois did, and use it to negotiate for a bunch of concessions.

The difference being that on the Federal level, all roads go through Quebec, whilst you could build a bridge over Saskatchewan and the rest of the country would be onboard.  We seem to be in 20 year political cycles here. The previous conservative govt went out in flames, people went to jail, party basically dissolved, Then the other guys were in past their welcome due to a vaccuum on the right and the original incarnation of the sask party was a little to “family values” and that didn’t fly, then but it would now.
