Sorry Gran Fury, I’m muscling in on your favorite posting topic. I accidently knocked over and broke a lamp the other day so I popped over to the thrift store looking for a new one. For $6 I found one that matches my decor, which is good on its own, but the kicker is that it came with a 3-way Philips LED bulb that I would have paid $ 12 for!
I feel like Macklemore right now

Nice pick up. I have this persistent fondness for the twisted bird cage theme. I think it’s linked to the pottery barn gene. The bulb may be expensive, but being LED means it should last a while.

You gonna take the price tag off, or just keep bragging?

Hey - no problem jumping in on this topic. I want everyone to find good deals and love seeing good, usable stuff stay out of landfills. The more we donate and re-use the better.
Great score on that bulb. I paid $10 for one and put it in my $6 Walmart lamp...

I wonder if that was mine at one time. I did have a lamp exactly like that, with the same bulb. But that was six years an d two states ago.

If you won’t get a new shade for it at least turn the ugly part towards the wall.
Or was this the pretty side? Appears even more misshapen at the top now that I look closer.

I try to shop at the local thrift store when I can. They’re a nonprofit and their proceeds help fund th e local community services program.

I've rotated the lamp so it's now front and center.
