...for a black Mazda Tribute in Austin. I’m too far to do anything about it, but it made me wonder how easy it might be to recognize because I don’t see very many Tributes on the road.
Then it occurred to me that many people wouldn’t even know what a tribute would look like. Without seeing the name plate. If you pried the badges off, you might fly underneath most people’s radar.

NOBODY in Austin will know what a Tribute looks like.

Hey do you want a brush bar for your Tribute?

Was wondering but figured I wasn’t qualified to make that determination. Figured you could.

I admire the layers there.

Maybe a rattle can in a bright color.

Is this a joke about sxsw?
Or am I thinking or ACL?

Then again, they are so rare that one might stand out. Interestingly, I never got the alert. Might be posted on highway info signs though.

Haha I’ll take that as a no. I have one and have no idea what to do with it.

Saw the TXDOT sign on my way home tonight. It just says, “Black Mazda SUV.”

That widens the net. Amber alert in my phone said black 2005 Mazda Tribute S.

I’ve turned the Amber Alerts off on my phone. Even with the sound muted, those alerts still come through, usually in the middle of a rehearsal or performance.

Well that’s embarrassing.

Got this one recently:
I was struck by the absurdity of blasting this out to look for a very common car last seen on the other side of the state.
However someone did actually spot the car and follow it long enough for the police to respond: https://www.masslive.com/springfield/2020/01/springfield-abduction-couple-who-spotted-followed-car-involved-in-11-year-old-charlotte-moccias-abduction-appear-on-good-morning-america.html
Of course that says they recognized the car because they had seen it on Facebook, where there was surveillance footage of the car, so they knew the generation, what wheels it had, and that the windows were tinted. If they are going to be sending out these alerts, maybe it’s time for a version that can display pictures.

That’s a good idea. Maybe not feasible to put it on the lighted panel over the highway, but most people are getting these on their smart phones too.
