So, if I wanted to search nationwide US Nissan dealers for a “unicorn” Frontier, i.e. manual 4 cylinder King Cab (i.e. cheap, but no lo cal dealers have one), is it possible to do myself without Googling dealers in farther and farther away cities until I find one?
How the heck do you search nationwide without spending hours looking up dealers in all 50 states and checking their inventories?
Maybe I’m just having a bad morning and overthinking this and should just call a local dealer to see if they can do the search for me?
I did have nightmares last night about my son getting his driver’s license and now I’m sleep deprived and over caffeinated on cheap Costco coffee, so forgive me for my simple question.

Autotrader, cargurus? I know ORLG found his IS-F on autot rdaer in Boston, when he was in Nashville.

Hmmm, interesting. I haven’t thought of autotrader in forever and I always think of them as a used car rag. I’ve never checked out cargurus before, so I’ll check them out. Thanks!

CarGurus is my go-to since it easily allows you to search for specific trims and colors.

I found the only ram big horn 2 door I've ever seen on cargurus. Good luck

I think cars.com has new inventories as well.

Yeah back when I bought my E55, I found it on autotrader in Utah, but I'm in Oregon.

When I did this looking for my unicorn F-150, I searched using Ford's inventory search tool and entering zip codes from major cities with the largest search radius available set. It probably took a couple of hours before I found the only two trucks in such a configuration west of the Mississippi.

Does Nissan let you configurate it and then search new dealer inventories for it? Some manufacturers have that I think. I am not near as familiar with new car searches.

Sounds like a good place to check, thanks.

I’ll check it, thanks.

Yea, that’s what I started to do and got frustrated trying to find an exact match. Such is the curse of the impatient perfectionist.

It doesn’t look like it. You can pull up the dealers, but then it’s up to you to go to their websites and search their inventory. Which may be OK, it’s just going to take a while.

Autotrader shows 18 manual 4 cylinder new Frontiers in the USA, none are near me, looks like many are in California https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/New+Cars/4+Cylinder/Nissan/Frontier/Lincoln+NE-68506?makeCodeList=NISSAN&transmissionCodes=MAN&listingTypes=NEW&engineCodes=4CLDR&searchRadius=0&modelCodeList=FRONTI&zip=68506&marketExtension=include&isNewSearch=true&sortBy=derivedpriceDESC&numRecords=25&firstRecord=0
With all the talk of expensive 60k new trucks I had no idea you could still get a truck for under $20k, I am intrigued.

Autotempest searches all of the major car sales sites.

Following the rainbow road, of course.
Good old fashioned research and talking to as many people as possible in the nicest manner available to deal with them?

Yes, except we’re talking about car dealers. Nice does not apply.

I’ll second this. It’s my usual go-to spot for looking for things.
