I decided to go on a simple errand to get out of the house, and it ended up taking almost two hours. But the carspotting was GOOD!

First, the parking lot of a veterinarian. Two very different types of enthusiasts just happened to bring their pets in today.

This bright red manual Mustang seems run of the mill at first. Then you see the C O B R A imprinted on the bumper and the SVT badge on the trunk. This is a proper sleeper, unless you look closely or hear the engine note. I’ve seen two of these things in as many weeks. Weird.

This Audi A8 has got to be astronomically expensive to keep on the road. What really caught my eye is the sheer size of this luxury saloon combined with the subtle color.

Then, I stopped to admire the cars outside a movie prop rental agency while getting gas. This is where the real fun begins. First up, a bright blue Mustang II? Ew, its an automatic too. Looks like an older restoration. I’m honestly not sure why this is the most prominently displayed car.

Next, the Jeep DJ postal Jeep, as promised. This one was all complete, though sans the livery. This will probably see a quick paint job before its film role. These things are hilariously tiny compared to not only modern cars, but their replacement, the Grumman LLV.

This Chevy Suburban probably was not originally outfitted with this psuedo military stuff; Other than the window bars, everything was stock.

And here is a surprise. A Dodge Diplomat in police livery. And a (definitely not really a) SWAT step van to match!

Kinja'd!!!

This old manual transmission Chevy truck had a lot of charm. The rear contained a goose neck hitch as well.

I didn’t get a picture of the apparently brand new Honda Super Cub or the garage with a very wide track spec   Lotus Elise with many super bikes parked next to it. Quite a catch today though.

That’s some good DOTS. I’m curious about those window bars, though.

It’s a movie prop. It doesn’t have to hold up to scrutiny. Chicken wire welded to the lower half of two windows? Just like the military!

This is one diplomat with lax security. I walked right up to it. It appeared to have just been painted for film use.

And the LLV will be tiny compared to whatever USPS selects as its new fleet standard.
