Some stunning photographs. Somehow I always equated “potatoes” with “boring” despite the obvious Irish counter-example.

As a person who lives in Idaho, I gotta say, it really is a beautiful state. The fact that it’s about 70% national forest definitely helps, and it means there’s a lot to do if you’re an outdoorsy person. The climate is pretty consistent year-round, and it limits rust while not being super hard on interiors, so it’s pretty good for a car enthusiast, too. I like to think of it as one of the more underrated states, though i t’s too bad everyone confuses it with Iowa and Ohio...

Yeah it just screams boring even though if you look at where it is, you know it must have tons of natural beauty.
On the other hand, potatoes notwithstanding, it also feels like it probably shouldn’t actually be good for farming, aside from a bit near Boise and a few other small pockets, it seems like mostly irrigation in the cold dry desert.

Sshh. I have family there and they’re trying to keep it quiet to minimize the Californication.

The farming’s actually not bad at all, though more and more farmland is being bought up to build houses and whatnot on because lots of people are actually moving here. It seems the word got out...

I’m not convinced there is a state that is not stunningly beautiful. Even New Jersey can be pretty upstate (XD).

There are parts of Idaho that are very boring but that’s true of most states.

Idaho is awesome - do yourself a favor and get on a plane to Boise. Huge variety of landscapes, lots to do, people are nice.

We have family on The south side lake coeur d’alene in the central part of the state. It is really pretty there. Lots of fun water stuff to do, along with hiking and such. It is a great area to visit.

Im told you guys have good roads out there too.
I should really drive out there soon, I think the GF wants to go on an adventure in Montana some time maybe this summer, so I’m sure I’ll get the chance to drive through the state (though maybe just the skinny part)

There are some good roads here and there if you know where to look, especially in the really hilly areas. And the scenery is really good too, though sometimes it’s best not to look at it too much because no one wants to fall off the road in certain parts of those hilly areas...
