This Lincoln Continental on Bring a Trailer comes from and era where interiors were awash with colors and hues that would never be acceptable in today’s bland, drab automotive color palette.
If you are interested in bidding on this work of art, here is the link to the BringATrailer auction.

I had to have a buffer image. I don't think the main page could handle so much green, hahaha

19 ft long, over 5,000 lbs, 460 ci, maybe 200 hp, and mpg.

It converts gas into heat and noise, oh and it might move the car slightly. That interior though is truely impressive.

Pillow-top velour seats. Now THAT’s luxury.

y’know, I’m all about wishing you could get a nicer cloth option on higher trim level cars instead of being forced to take leather, but pimp-tastic crushed velour pillows is a bit too far....

It is everything that was luxury in the ‘70s. It’d be a bit much for daily use I'll grant you, but as a child of that era there’s something about it I love inspite of how far out there it is.

oh I know, I remember countless drives to Lansing sitting in the middle of the front bench seat of my grandfather’s LTD, resplendent in green paisley vinyl.

This is a case where I'd love to have a chauffeur, so I could put on a tape of soothing massage music, and just settle down in the back seat and drift off to sleep, and wake up 4 hours later at the destination.

If it was purple it would be absolutely fine.

I have dreams of buying a sweet land barge like this, swap in a 6.0ls/4l80e combo with a nice big turbo. It would take a while to get moving and even longer to stop, but it would be a hell of a time in between!

When given the choice, I will always choose green.
I don’t think I would choose that interior in green.

And remember, there were no backup cameras or parking sensors back then.

The 70s were an adventurous time for colors, maybe to compensate for the general malaise elsewhere or via drug use in the 60s . Even the somber Germans did it.
Want a top of the line coupe in lime green? No problem:
Or bright gold? Done:
Yellow? Consider it yours :
Olive green leather? Why not?

Every old man tendency inside of me is yearning for that thing. And the gearhead part of me wants to stuff a Raptor 6.2 V8 under the hood.
