At the end of the day, you come out ahead, because you didn’t spend $82k USD on a 22 year old FWD Honda.

I remember when these were $20,000 cars... I remember someone once telling me that these would never appreciate. Guess that someone was wrong.

Just buy a regular Integra and build it into exactly what you want for 1/4 of the price. I remember watching an interview with Randy Pobst where he said his favourite engine to drive out of all was a turbocharged integra motor (I think B series but not enough of a Honda nerd to remember). What you end up with will likely be more fun than an ITR, just as reliable, and you can spend the other 40K you saved on brakes and tires and stuff.

Well not everyone knows what they have, and this one was super low mileage . But really you can do better. These were kind of cool, but if you are buying a 15-20 year old coupe, you’d be getting a lot more car picking up a Boxster/Cayman or something along those lines.

Quite possibly still a bad investment. Between not being able to invest that money elsewhere, storage expenses, and maintenance costs, even at that absurd price this may not be a winner depending on what and when they paid. Someone did a poor job not driving this thing for near a quarter century.

It’s a VINwiki video, I don’t like them so I won’t post the link but if you want to watch the interview you can google it or Jalopnik linked the interview as Pobst explaining horsepower vs torque
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

Wow. Some people have too much money. And some of them played a lot of Grand Truismo when they were kids.

Quarter of the price? More like 1/25th of the price. There are two sub $4k ‘94 Integras in my AO. If you aren’t picky one is a running salvage title for $1,200.

Makes a 100K Supra look like the deal of the century, I know which I’d rather have.

That would just be the shell. I’m not under the delusion some eBay parts and a junkyard ‘JDM’ engine swap will make any Integra comparable to an ITR, but I’m sure spending 15K in go-fast parts on one of those Craigslist specials will make them just as fun. Unless you install lambo doors I guess?

Correct. I misread your post. Buy in would be 1/25th the price.

Don’t feel too bad. For me, I’d rather buy a brand new CTR. If the NA engine is what you’re after,
the K20 Civic Si spins to 8000 rpm and produces roughly the same peak power. A couple of suspension mods will make it just as sharp as this ITR, and the newer Civic probably has more us
able
torque too.
You’d probably spend less than $20k, total.
If you want further reinforcement of how crack pipe $80k is for an ITR, try
d
riving one
in Gran Turismo Sport. Without power mods, it’s dog slow against modern cars and the only fun circuit for it would be Tsukuba.

Can I tempt you into a 1998 RHD DC2 UKDM Honda Integra 1.8 Type R. One owner from new, unmodified, it has high mileage at 149,900 miles on the clock.
£6,500.
