CNBC(?) on the C8 Corvette, if you're interested in buying some stock, I guess. Some decent history included in the first half.

The “expert” at 2:47 really doesn’t know what he’s talking about, though. There are plenty of front-engined sports cars with perfect 50:50 weight distribution (the C7 Corvette, for example). Mid-engine cars tend to have a slightly rearward weight bias (60/40), which is optimal for RWD acceleration from a stop and for getting the power down as you’re leaving a corner. The closer the weight of the car is to the center of mass, the easier it is for a car to rotate around a corner, but what he said about about equal weight on axles/tires really is off, related to mid-engine cars.

CNBC has been doing a ton of car content lately. Its usually filled with bad “experts”

“What is a polar moment of inertia, anyway?”

-Old Audi with entire engine in front of front axle and near 50:50 due to perverse design

By my sense, if you have really great weight distribution but a five cylinder engine pointing forward of the front axle, you will be demonstrating the rotational form of Newton’s first law like no other.

Funny thing about thumbnails - I saw the one for this article and in small scale where all the “embellishment” kind of disappears, I realized that the C8 kind of just looks like a Lambo. I’m not sure it’s a good thing.

The C8 has a nice profile, but the rest of its design is kind of a busy mess. I’ll reserve final judgement til I see one in person, but at this point, it’s much like its predecessor:

striking, but not beautiful

It’s when you can’t bring yourself to get up off the couch and go shovel the walk.

I too have noticed CNBC doing a lot more car content and also ripping off shows from small(er) YouTubers, such as Company Man. I hate big media..

Can confirm. My friend has an 83 Audi UrQuattro. Its weird how good it drives vs. how terrible a design it actually is.
