I bet the car smelled fabulously fresh afterwards, though.

I thought that was a weird article. As you say these things have warning labels... And she appears to have comprehensive insurance, so it’s weird that they have this:
Debrecht said her daughter, whom she didn’t want to name, is heartbroken about the car, which could end up being a major financial loss.
I mean they’ll be out the deductible, and $1000 is definitely not nothing, but I feel like compared to to the cost of a nearly new Civic, it shouldn’t be that huge a deal, basically the same as if she had an accident (as is entirely predictable for a teenage driver)
It doesn’t even seem like the damage is that severe, new sunroof glass, probably a new center console top since I’d guess some clips broke. And then a clean. Unless this stuff did chemical damage to the interior surfaces (which seems unlikely since it is gentle enough to use on people), it’s hard to see how they get even remotely close to totaling the car.
Perhaps most troubling is this:
she added that there was also a Dove brand dry shampoo that didn’t explode among the rubble
This sounds like someone already rationalizing that the problem was that the Walmart brand was defective, even though Dove is happy to tell you not to do this, and could easily have been close to cooking off itself.
I hope she’s smart enough to avoid keeping any of these products in her car once it’s repaired.

The difference here could easily be that the Dove bottle was part way used while the Equate bottle was closer to full. The used bottle requires a higher temperature to reach bursting pressure.
The way store brands work it wouldn't surprise me at all if the Equate is literally just the Dove stuff in a different bottle.

Case Study: the Combined Gas Law. Pay attention in chemistry class, folks!
Also, according to the label, that shit has propane, isobutane and butane in it. Why the hell would you spray that in your hair?

I thought you had an open top? what’s the problem? lol
We used to have to put our bearspray into these homemade pipebomb looking pvc containers, then put them into the back of the work
trucks
. None allowed
the cab at all- it only took getting that junk on you
once and you didn’t argue.
Heli-
pilots also would not start up
until it was all stored outside in the boxes. I was allowed to hold my defender but that spray
can had to go outside.

Sadly I can’t burn anything inside the city (or maybe county) limits, and there’s nothing else that’d be useful for for me.
How much longer are you in town?

So you can’t have like a fire pit in the backyard either?

That’s my understanding but I haven’t looked at the rules in years.

Counterpoint: Remove all warning labels, let the problem sort itself out.
