I’ve been off work since the first of August, and now, starting tomorrow, I have to go back. I took the time off to finish chemotherapy and recover and it’s been nice (except for the lack of money). Don’t get me wrong - I love my job, my co-workers and customers, even management, but I really like sleeping in, watching TV and playing computer games more. It’s been fun except for the fatigue, pain, headaches and nausea, but all good things must come to an end. :/
I didn’t get nearly as much accomplished during this off time as I would have liked, but, well, whatever. In a way this makes up for me having to give up all of my vacation time this year, although I wish it could have been under more pleasant circumstances.
Hard work isn’t getting me rich, and my dot-com dreams went flat before we could go public, so I guess I’ll have to pick up the occasional lottery ticket as a possible way to get the necessary funds so that I can go back to being a bum. Don’t worry - I’ve got it all figured out. Live off of the interest, don’t be a sap and give to all the hangers- on looking to live off of someone else’s money, and be modest, meaning no fancy mansion and garages full of expensive sports cars. I’d even keep my Mazda5 (although it might get a turbo...)
So, for all those of you who grumbled about Monday mornings for the last seven weeks please know that I’m right there with you now. Yeah, it sucks, but what are ya gonna do...

If the bigger gripe is going back to work at a job that’s decent, I'll take it as good news. Have a good work week.

Apparently they've been trying to reach me since 3:00 AM to get me to come in early since they're having computer problems; I fell asleep at 2:00. This is not how I wanted my first day back to go, and I hope it's not a sign of things to come...
