As anyone who’s handled a 30+ pound flywheel knows, the ring gear really cuts into your hands. This, combined with the fact that I’m taking my flywheel to be balanced this week, lead to the creation of this holder from some scrap wood.
!!!CAPTION ERROR: MAY BE MULTI-LINE OR CONTAIN LINK!!!As a bonus, it will keep it from sliding all over the place in the back of the car. A good use of 5 minutes, I’d say.
(I’m also taking the rocker studs to have about .1" taken off the bottom threads
so they actually fit; see previous post. This will be done at no cost to me, since this is the shop that spec’ed those studs, which is nice.

After seeing the aftermath of flywheel failure on an LS swapped 350z I’m a big fan of SFI rated everything. There were bellhousing chunks in the trunk of that car.

For sure. I have an SFI-rated scattershield bellhousing
in the basement which will be going onto this engine. I like having feet.

I think so. I could probably sell these on etsy. If I figure out how to make them from an old pallet, I’ll be rich.

I'm guessing not a lot of folks who need a flywheel holder, shop on Etsy.

Luckily the hole was blown in the passenger side of the trans tunnel.
