I’ve been shopping for an ADV bike a while to take on winter commuter and long distance riding tasks. Had my heart pretty set on a Tiger 800, but they seem immune to depreciation. Well, I g ot a spam email from one of the local dealers T hursday that advertised new 2017 Honda Africa Twins right around the price point where I’d seen correct spec Tiger 800 usually listed ( in well used form) . When I found out they had them in red/white/ blue, I called up and reserved first thing. Initial i mpressions are really good, it’s a massive bike, but it feels really does feel light when you’re moving. 

I need to chan ge my name, the last several things I’ve owned have not been beaters.

That is a very good looking bike, I drooled over it for sure when I got its  baby brother the CB500X.

Yeah, the dealer near me bought up all the unsold 2017 stock they could. It had 0 miles when I rode off with it today. I love the color scheme, looks amazing in person.

How do you like your CB500X? I like the idea of the AT, but that bike is way too big for me.

Congrats! I’d love on, my wife on the other hand...let’s just say if I got one, it wouldn’t be a divorce...she’d let me buy one for sure. Riding it would be a different story. I really wish she didn’t work in healthcare.

I know the feeling, a girl I was seeing for a long time had a mom who was a doctor. I got to hear all the reasons I probably shouldn’t be riding fairly often .

I love it, it’s a really good all around bike. It does gravel quite well, gets great gas mileage, handles well in the twisties and handles 2 up good too.
