I don’t make it a practice of bitching much about Kinja modifications. It’s mostly easier to roll with it and not get my blood pressure up, but this latest one is im pairing my ability to make use of the platform. When I click on a notification, I’ m not taken to the comment on which I clicked so I can read and/or respond. Instead, I am taken to the thread, and I have to hunt for the comment in question. On mobile, it’s even more cumbersome.
So, if I don’t star or respond to your comment for now, know that it’s not intentional.

Agreed, it’s infuriating. How do they manage to make not just the layout but the actual functionality a little bit worse with every update?

Yeah it’s shit, I was wondering if anyone else had issues.... Not sure if things post or not, I have to click on the time of the post in the notifications to get the right one to come up. Then it loads forever. It used to post if you hit the publish button again, but it stopped doing that yesterday.

My guess is that they keep trying to make it worse so they can shut it all down as we all start to leave. Or make it so bad that they have to shut everything down just to end the horrors.

I still have it on desktop where trying to reply on a comment sometimes just makes you scroll to the top and not even open the text box. I’ve legitimately been unable to respond to comment threads that go beyond so many replies for whatever reason...

If you get a reply, you should be able to click on the timestamp to go to the actual reply (or at least that’s how it’s working for me). Timestamps on recommendations are no longer linked though.

Some of these changes seem to come WAY out of left field. Who would have guessed that they w ere going to take away our ability to recommend/like posts? Maybe it’s time to start making a list of all the things they haven’t changed yet, so that we can preemptively ask them not to take them away, before things get even worse than they already are .

Ok, I am not defending Kinja, but I don’t see these problems. I am using Chrome and Microsoft Windows 10, but sometimes I use a MacBook with Mojave. If I click on my profile picture and then go to “Notifications,” it takes me to the list of recommendations and replies. The only thing that it lets me click on is the timestamp but, if I do, I go right to the reply.
I do not use my iPhone for Oppo, for no particular reason that the screen is small, and I rarely use my phone for anything but text and voice.

face’s recommendation seems to be the answer. When I click on the time stamp instead of the comment, it seems to be taking me to the comment I want. That’s kind of counter intuitive.

Wow, I haven’t been having it that bad on desktop. I can’t stay logged on to any other Kinja blog besides Oppo with my phone, or even my home desktop.

The time stamp click is working for me now. Clicking on the post link just takes me to the thread, not the comment, like it used to.

Right about the time stamp on recommendations, but clicking on the “this post” text link in your recommendation did take me to the comment you starred.

Ad-blocking certainly doesn’t help the reliability of Kinja, although looks like Kinjamprove Continued ( Chrome , Firefox ) brings enough of its own code to make things reliable again, interestingly...

The original photo is mine. That’s my garage door into t he house. My girls found the snake trying to get in and shrieked. They were appalled that I stopped to take this pic before getting rid of it, but now they pass it around too.
I had forgotten who added the text, so thank you.
