First, this is amazing

Trials riding is the most impressive thing you can do on 2 wheels if you ask me. Maybe not the scariest, but the most impressive. The skateboard thing in particular blew my mind apart.

Second - the lesson here is that you are more important than anyone else, and that escaping your life = being a dick to people. They’re good natured, they’ll be fine. Obviously they are involved in the production so its not real in any way shape or form (except that protest, which looked pretty real) but riding across a construction worker? Landing on an R8? rear ending a car and then riding off after stealing their horrid bull semen drink?

It might be a touch “old man yells at cloud” but it did bug me a little.

It doesn’t take away my awe however. That was amazing.

I would say 99%. The train, the protest. I feel like those were more targets of opportunity . But yes, all the rest was carefully coordinated .  Very talented for sure, though each thing took dozens of takes im sure.

Yeah, I didn’t love the format of the video but he’s unbelievable to watch. I watched the skateboard bit a bunch of times and still don’t get it quite.

Luckily for me, there’s a 47 minute video about the making of it, haha

Impressive indeed. If you’ve got IG, give GForce Jarvis a follow. Guy does tria ls things on dirtbikes (not trials bikes) that are mind blowing.

Pretty amazing. As a kid of the 80s, I’m more curious why they switched from more of a traditional BMX frame for tricks like this. I guess it’s just because MTB Trial bikes got popular and people are just using them in cities now? Still seems like a lighter/smaller bike would work better, but I’m not sure...

there are different categories of trials bikes, 20 inch bikes are still a thing but larger bikes like this are a little more popular because it opens up more options as far as terrain

im still trying to wrap my head around dropping from those heights with a hardtail/nose and not snapping the bike in half/folding the wheels like noodles

(i get that his tire pressure is key...but man... if i jumped my bike off anything that high on to a flat surface id just leave a crater full of bikeparts)

Its a 3 part deal.

sucking it up with your body

Low tire pressures and high volumes

crazy strong gear.  Seriously, I’ve built out a few of these wheels and they are burly.

I used to have an Inspired 4 play... yeah my back couldn’t handle all the stress and strength required to pull this shit off. I could do a pedal kick, but couldn’t more farther than a foot (although one time I managed to get up a curb).

Geometry for BMX is a lot different than Trials. You need a riding position that is very slumped forward, and a much wider handlebar. The bar is setup up to be comfortable when standing on the back wheel (brakes rotated down more).

BMXs are also a lot heavier than the modern trials bike, and the brakes used are usually much stronger on trails bikes as well.
