As of this morning, I have fully divested Chase bank of their interest in my 6. Have a photo of it as it sits in my work parking lot today.
Now to concentrate on doing the same for the Highlander someday.
Yay.

Congrats! Feels good doesn’t it? I paid off my Camaro last summer with one big payment like that. Just couldn’t stand the monthly payment any more.

Great!, But, now I wonder if the dealer you bought it from will start pestering you to “TRADE YOUR CAR IN NOW!!!”.... for a base model cx-3

Mazda corporate mails me stuff a lot. They used to want me to get a new 6 and now they send me stuff on the CX- 5 all the time.

Yes! It does. Too bad we just got my wife’s new Highlander and haven’t even made the first payment on it yet. Lol. But, the Highlander has amazing resale value. Way better than the 6. And we’re going to pay it off early, too.

I only had a few months free of a car payment, so I get that. My daily was getting pretty worn out and needed to be replaced . Good news is that the GTI payment is about half what the Camaro payment was . My wife will be in need of a replacement vehicle about the time the GTI is paid off. We seem to be stuck in a cycle, but at least there is only one payment at a time.

Same here! I’m not a Dave Ramsey devotee, so debt isn’t a scary/evil thing to me. The key is to keep it reasonable and don’t live beyond your means .
