Take the Explorer ST (pronounced Ex-plor-ror-ist) and replace the drivetrain with the GT500’s 5.2l supercharged V8 and DCT.

Take the fight to the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with the Explorer RS ( pronounced Ex-plor-ror-ris). Put the giant brakes and carbon fiber wheels on it, along with the Recaro seats for the front and middle rows. Lower the ride height with stiffer springs and Multimatic Spool Shocks. Put a carbon fiber hood, roof, and tailgate on that bitch. Make the front end even more aggressive, and have a stonking great diffuser in the back. Put PS4s on the carbon wheels and finally offer it in the same colors as the GT500.

Ford would be silly not to do this as it would print money.

Its a wonderful idea. But honestly at the price point it would command, it would be too much and would work better as a Lincoln. Though Ford has never had a problem as of late stepping in Lincoln’s price pool.

I don’t think RS buyers would want a Lincoln, they want a fast Ford . Lincoln does plush, quiet luxury, not sport luxury; an Aviator RS wouldn’t make much sense. Ford Performance cars can command a high price.

this is such an amazing idea...it’s bring prices down on gt500 production...might as well just call it the the explorer gt500. with a tune the sts are already in the mid 4s with 4wd and that predator it’d be in the mid 2s. imagine a square 305 setup on mustang wheels with mustang brakes...geez i just got chills...wonder how much room this platform has for a v8 since it’s architecture was designed around this 3.0v6tt though...but where there’s a will there’s a way

P eople will pay $70k+ for F- 150s and Mustangs, so why not for an Explorer? If the hardware is there to justify it, I don’t think it will be a problem.
