Well I mean, they do rust. There are metal components beneath. The one you have to watch for is where the trailing arms connect to the chassis out back and the place the engine mounts sit on the subframe. But other than that, and oil consumption, indestructible more or less.

I replaced both trailing arms on my/your SC2. Should be good to go for a while. The driver side one seemed to have rusted from the inside out if I recall correctly. It failed while I was pulling into a parking lot. I went ahead and replaced both.

Yeah, everything looked pretty good when I was under it last.
I have a friend with painting supplies, I think I'm gonna make it lime green, just for giggles
