Kinja'd!!!

I went to Pebble Beach this year and surrounding events and took about 8600 photos. I’ve very slowly been going through them. These are some from the parking lot and static displays.

That robot Packard is horrifying. Also, I dunno what that huge black WWII era open tourer is, but I want five of them.

Lede pic looks like an early Batmobile design.

Hood ornament indicates a Pierce-Arrow. It was in a private lot so that i s as close as I could get. Packard was amazing.

The huge black open-top tourer is a Pierce-Arrow Twelve like this one:

Silver arrow does 115. Frankly that's a lot faster than I want to go in something with 30's steering and suspension.

One of the big selling points of the Duesy was that every car, even the non-supercharged ones, would *allegedly* do 120mph, regardless of what body they were fitted with.

Of course, I still find Pierce-Arrows and the Silver Arrow in particular to be massively impressive feats of engineering (and beautiful to boot).

It could totally be one of the comic book cars.
