I’d do the general admission tickets for your first trip to the USGP. I went a couple of years ago. GA tickets let you watch from grassy areas all around the track and really get a feel for the racing over almost the entire circuit. Bring a folding chair and enjoy wherever you see fit.
My favorite spot to watch from at COTA is the GA area at the turn 11 hairpin. You can see the cars coming out of the turn 9-10 complex, through the hairpin and then down the back straight. Watching them come through 10 downhill and off-camber is neat, and the braking zone into 11 sees some passing. You then get to watch them go down the back straight and run all the way through the gears to 200mph+. Turn 11 is also a long ways from much else around the track. The reward for the trek out there was seemingly slightly better food options with shorter lines and far fewer people in general . Maybe by nature of appealing to folks willing to trek out there, the fellow fans at turn 11 seemed a bit cooler and bit more relaxed than around other areas of the track.
If you decide to do bleacher tickets in future years, you’ll also know what you want to see and where you want to sit after doing GA tickets.

I bought the Haas hill package this year. If you haven’t booked accommodations yet... I’m sorry for your wallet but at least you can split it up between the gents.
As ITA97 pointed out, GA is pretty good at COTA. This will be my second time doing GA, maybe one year I’ll get a T15 grandstand as there’s usually some good action there (ie Vettel spinning).

I guess I wasnt clear as regards the “issue” in the OP.
So me clarification:
1) Been to 5 F1 races at CO TA. Been in G randstands, Turn 4 and Turn 9 and twice in G eneral A dmission. Been with 5 friends, been with 2 friends, been work group. And although this is not the first time I am going, I am organizing the trip. So I am buying the tick ets.
2) Live in West Houston and I have done the S unday trip to COTA just for the race. That being said, I have accommodation covered - thanks to a friend who owns a small motel in Austin. lol.
Real question: I see different prices for the tickets at different sites. Where do you guys buy them from. I always had someone else buy in and I’d just pitch in for my share.
