The Infiniti J30 is the roundest. Just look at that rear deck. There’s no discernible transition between side and top.

My father had a J30 brand new when they came out. I remember just how...weird it looked in the driveway. It was comfy, though. I’d drive one because why not.

It’s also just as hard to work on as a 300zx Z32! (Same NA engine).

Oh that radio. I thought it was so cool when I was 9.

Then I learned to hate it when I had to sit in between my parents in the front seat instead of in the back of a station wagon.

Yes the Taurus was a 6 seater.

The ass end of newer Mercedes Benz's are all like that, which is why I call them baked potatoes

Well IIRC they are basically just Z32s underneath and come with the 300ZX LSD...which is why 240SX folks eat ‘em up. Also... YES TT swap... I am in the group of STOP LS swapping EVERYTHING.

I think a TT swap would be bolt in... kinda so why not

The hard this is finding a J30 that isn’t absolutely trashed by now. I have no idea when I last even saw one... Also that white color is really pretty up close. It’s like gold flake white it’s so cool for a factory paint.

It is somewhere around peak melted bar of soap, that’s for sure. Everything in that era had that style.

The interiors on Fords of that era were so weird. So very weird. I owned one and still feel that way (not a Taurus, but from that era).

I wish my mom had gotten the wagon. We had a 93 Sable wagon before the 99 Taurus sedan. I loved the Sable because could sit in the back in my ow. Little world . It was great.

I’m in the group of put a 13B rotary turbo in it or a 350 SBC. LS swaps are so..... “it’s been done before” But I don’t wanna piss on anyone’s shoes. We’re all car folk. If that’s what you want go for it. I ain’t gonna lose sleep over it... I got two annoying cats for that, lol.

I just think t he whining about it is a bunch of hipster nonsense. Most North Americans  can’t afford the crazy and unusual swaps, and they want something that will make plenty of power, get decent mileage, and won’t break down all the time. The LS is the sensible choice for the majority of people on this continent who don't have unlimited funds or time.

There is no denying that at all it’s as reliable as reliable can get for a swap and credit where credit is due they do get darn good mileage.
