14,000lbs of fork lift is no match for fresh gravel.

Kinja'd!!!

“I’ll push you out.” guy on the little fork lift.

Kinja'd!!!

Seen, not me. On the non rusty rental, but co-worker who tried getting it unstuck (getting it more stuck).

Kinja'd!!!

The one that was getting the other one unstuck. We tried another forklift to get the previous 2 unstuck, that one almost go stuck. The front end loader was used to pull them out.

I wonder if putting the forks all the way down (really it's the frame they ride on) would push the front end up so you couldget material under the tires. IDK

Won't work. The chains will just loose tension.

When I was a kid a tractor got stuck in an unexpected mudhole in the field across the road. They brought in another tractor to pull it out, which then got stuck in the same unexpectedly large mudhole. After a while somebody brought a bulldozer in to pull the two out, chained it to the second tractor which was chained to the first. By the end a small audience had gathered at the side of the road to watch the show and cheer them on .

Fork truck masts are gravity down.

Right, they’re primarily “lift” chains. They don’t pull down at all. It’s all gravity driven.

That said, why didn’t you guys just jam a piece of wood under the drive wheels? Long-wise, that is.

That's nice, but there is no need for one of that size where I work.

Yeah we don’t use that one very much, but when ya need it ya need it. Mostly for moving containers or broken skidsteers, but honestly a smaller one would be nice 95% of the time, that one is so big you can barely use it inside our  shop.

The small one (along with a small Toyota) is used for inside the ware house. Try to avoid using them outside if we need too. The yard is also built on a swamp, so when it rains they get stuck easily.

I used to drive that (among many other responsibilities) at a marina. We got it stuck a few times, too. Not fun.

That looks about the same size, just longer forks and maybe a little taller, but I guess boats don't weigh as much, ours is rated for like 26,000 lbs. Haven't really gotten it stuck our yard is pretty stony but it does suck in the snow.

Yes it is. Though kind of a necessity when you need to change tires or move parts for one of these

Yeah, that was I think only a 14,000 lb lift. We didn’t have any boats that weighed that much, but the forks gave them some leverage, so you could get the rear wheels off the ground with heavier boats if you weren’t careful. Especially going downhill, braking.
