Today is the last day of my weekend, then back on for four days. I’m going to work out with a coworker, make a chicken Caesar salad for dinner, and maybe clean up a bit. Took some plane photos today, though, since they were dusting the fields near my house. I got one photo I liked after cropping it.

Hence my recent Photography post! $1700 is a little rich right now, but you know, I would never have gotten this with my old 18-70 on my D70s, so I’ll just be thankfully how good the A7ii and kit lens are.

Finish packing and getting my affairs in order . Flight leaves Monday! Won’t be back until mid January!! Can’t wait for this vacation!!!!!!!! . Wife is already at her mom’s, she didn’t want to come . But a ll the bills are pre- paid with a bit extra until M arch, just in case . Friends are staying at my house to keep it in order. To top it all off with a cherry , s pent the day doing b.s. work, at work , so all my heavy stuff is now someone else’s problem. I am willing to bet they forgot I am on extended leave :big smiley face:

I went up to the Smithsonian yesterday with my daughter to see a talk from three ladies we worked in mission control during Apollo. It was pretty cool. I’m back home now. Scouts meeting tomorrow and some time spent working on the cars.

I’m on the second day of an 8 day road trip visiting family with my mom, who would never make the trip without someone else driving. Have about 1500 miles of driving ahead of me in a vehicle larger than many Seattle-area apartments.
More fun than being at work, even if I’ll be eating and drinking too much.

Our problem was that we have no family in TX, and never have. So there was never a grandparent to come stay with the kids.

Exactly out issue. When my daughter was a baby, and my wife was sick, we had a really hard time. My sister lived 10 min from our parents, and so got lots of help.

Yup. Do it once a year. Work 8 to 9 months, scrimp and save and then ejoy myself for 3 to 4 months. This year I am hiking across Idaho and Montana. Last year I hiked across Pennsylvania and New York. When I turn 40 I will take a year off and do the Appalachian trail, start to finish and back again.

Got started on the weekend early by fixing the oil leak on the 175. I’ll be grading papers and completing my first grad school test then drinking beer and watching football with my dad and bruddah.
