You shouldn’t play around with the BMW god, trust me, you may get a water pump failure or oil pan gasket leak now :)

O il pan gasket is already leaking, I’m waiting for the water pump to go, no idea when that’s going to happen. Figured when it goes it’ll just fix it with money.

My Mazda 3 series doesn’t tell me when the blinker fluid is low, it just stops squirting.

Any time the warning chime pops on my blood runs cold. The cold temperature alerts during fall/winter always has me on edge.

My dad calls it the $1000 chime, because it always feels like you have to spend a $1000 it chimes.

He’s not wrong. I panic whenever I hear it as usually it is a flat tire. Somehow my fat tires manage to find ALL the nails. I’ve had 9 patches or replacements.

Make sure you keep a sharp eye out, when the electric water pump goes out, temps will go up really quick from there, be ready to shut off as soon as possible or you will have even more issues to contend with.

Oh most definitely. I would actually b ump it to $ 2500 once labor and any BS diagnostic fees are added on. Other than the inevitability of the repair shop though these cars are certainly awesome.

That chime is a bastard... I also need washer fluid, and a reverse bulb.

Do you feel like yours drinks washer fluid way too fast? I wish there were a way to disable the stupid headlight washers from washing so much.

For a second I thought you had an alcantera dash/steering column cover .....alas, it’s dust....and I can relate. My F30 hasn’t been washed in over a month.

COuld have been worse, could have been * shudder* ... blinker fluid
sefeing, actually bought an E46

The low washer fluid warning light on my E46 is directly above the low coolant light, and they’re both orange. It gives me a heart attack every time.

You could prank people so badly with a small bluetooth speaker and something to play the chime at random intervals. I would have PTSD after a few days.

On my Volvo I play the game of just *tapping* the windshield washer function - if you’re quick, it doesn’t activate the headlight washers. 5-6 quick taps gets the same effect as one long squirt, without the added headlight spray.
Yes, really.

On my BMW, the headlight washers kick in the first time you wash the windshield after turning on the headlights. I leave my headlights on auto so if they’re on and I wash the windshield, the headlight washers deploy.
My solution is to turn my headlights off before washing, as long as it’s not like, actual pitch black night time and instead is daylight but dark enough to trigger the auto headlights.

All in the name of saving ounces of washer fluid! But I’m with you.

It’s not just to save washer fluid, it's to save myself from the car dinging at me incessantly that my washer fluid is getting low.

I don’t feel like it drinks too much of it. In the 5 years of having a BMW, this is the second time I’ve gotten this.

My 135 DRANK washer fluid. That car spent more time with the washer fluid warning on than it did off in the 3 years I owned it.

My Mazda from 1985 has a light that tells me when the washer fluid is low (it also comes on
under heavy braking when the level is about half or less
)
