I have a 2020 GLC for the night if anyone wants any impressions or questions answered. I never really liked the old styling but the new front end is very attractive in person to me. Not a big fan of the missing rotary controller for the infotainment, I liked being able to do things just from memory while driving. The touchscreen/pad is much more distracting to do simple tasks while moving.

Its got the premium package, pano, ambient lighting etc. I’ve already set the hey mercedes feature to only come on when I push the talk button, which is how the feature is really utilized best imo unless you’re someone into that sort of Alexa style technology. Personally Id rather tap the button for heated seats than to say a command and wait several seconds to see if she got it, even if it is super accurate. Just not a fan of talking to electronics lol, Id much rather do things myself (which is why I still drive two cars from before 2000 ).

Going to a rainy outdoor concert tonight with only lawn parking so I took advantage of the sales manager allowing everyone to drive the new GLC. Figured this was the perfect night to take it, now I can avoid the worry of driving the clownshoe onto some grass and getting dinged or bottoming out lol.

Looks like this, but its black. My phone screen is messed up right now (new screen from Amazon comes tomorrow. Only cost 25$ for a new iphone 6 screen with diy tools) so I can’t take my own photos.

Does it have leather or MB-Tex™?

Does it give off a plasticky smell?

I find that’s common in new MB-Tex cars.

Is there anything really special about it from your POV ? It just looks like another crossover that everybody seems to want these days with a premium badge.

Didn’t realize these were out already. When’s the 43/53 coming? Is the new infotainment the one from the A-class or still a step behind?

If you’re big into tech it has a ton of cool stuff, touchpads on the steering wheel, the “hey mercedes” feature, ambient lighting. Other than all the normal things that set a Benz apart its pretty normal though. I do like the new styling though, it seems wider and more aggressive.

Its like the A Class infotainment now. I don’t believe theyre making a 53 on any of the C lineup sadly (a C53 would be such an awesome car, but too much overlap). The 43 may be a while I think. These just arrived about two weeks ago, so not a surprise you havent seen one yet. We still have like 40-50 2019s to sell, so right now you kinda have to pay MSRP or MSRP minus whatever discount you qualify for.

I’m excited for the new CLAs, they were supposedly released last week and now they arent anymore which is odd. I think thats gonna be a much nicer car than the last generation. Also, we got a GTR Vert in this week. Super pointless car, but cool nonetheless

I feel like the CLA overlaps the A-class sedan more than a C/ GLC 53 would overlap anything

Both of the GLC 43s at MB of San Francisco I looked at in like May  are still sitting on the lot and they’re *still* just listed at MSRP. It’s madness at this point.

Being listed at MSRP doesn’t mean thats what you would pay if you asked for a discount though. Also a big key with Mercedes is qualifying for fleet incentives.

The problem with the 53 is just that theres no way they can support 3 AMG variants. Theres already a 63. IMO they should just drop the 43 motor at this point because the straight six is so much better (I’ve driven a few different 53's and they’re such a blast. Its such a creamy smooth power delivery with a nice rasp.)

The A and CLA also kind of overlap but theres a much bigger market of people looking for a  30-40 thousand dollar sedan than those looking for high performance 60-90,000 dollar suvs/sedans.

Oh yeah, I agree. The 53 would come in to replace the 43. I thought you meant it would overlap the E53.

I actually did email the dealer and they hit me back with $65,992 on a $69,650 MSRP
