Both arms are essentially out of commission. I went to my PCP yesterday and apparently I was due for some immunizations so I went ahead and took care of them. One of them, Shingrix, is kicking my ass right now. My left arm is in pain and not good for much of anything right now, and the right one isn’t much better. I didn’t read the side effects before I agreed to this, only doing so after talking to my dad and finding out what he went through. And to make it even more fun, I have to get a booster in a few months.
Thankfully I’m not working at the moment so I can recover from this at the same time as I get over chemo (last dose of that was about a week ago). I figure that the long-term benefits are better than doing without, so I’ll put up with this for a few days. I was hoping to get more done this week, but I’ll put that off a few days until my arms work again...

Ouch...shots don’t usually bother me, but the last flu shot I got kicked my ass for a few days the other year...
How is chemo going if you don’t mind my asking? Have a good night man! I'm just laying down to bed!

My dad had shingles and then they found out he had Hep B. Dude was on drugs for three months. Hope you are feeling better soon. There is only so much you can do with toes.

Always thinking and hoping for you man. I don’t post it, but always am.

Last day of chemo was last Thursday, so I’m in the recovery phase now. I’m starting to walk without too much pain, and I hope to be able to start exercising again next week. Sitting around and cooking/eating hasn’t done much for my waistline. Unlike previous weeks I’ve been able to eat without much nausea, and I have been doing so as evidenced by my various meal posts lately.

Thanks for the good wishes. I’m glad I have a great community like Oppo to come to just to hang out.
Chemo is over and I get my test results next week to make sure that the cancer is gone. These shots probably had a little more effect on me than would have been normal due to my weakened state, but like everything else, I’m just rolling with the punches.

Rough. Hopefully he’s doing OK now.
I’m just going to take it easy, play with my computers and catch up on reading (and napping). It’ll be done with soon enough...

Glad to hear things are on the up and up friend :)
I hear you on the waistline....I’m a pretty small guy (was born premature and have always had REALLY high metabolism)...been 120-130lbs most of my life. In the last year I’ve gone up to 154lbs....my stomach has grown a bit, to say the least. I’m trying to get some biking in every day to lose a few pounds. Hard to do when you’re busy and hasn’t seemed to make a difference yet, but at least it’s getting me into better shape in the process!

had a TDaP booster a few months ago. The actual shot doesn’t bother me, but man was my shoulder sore for days afterward. apparently it causes muscle inflammation around the injection site.

That’s great to hear! What’s their plan for monitoring? After my treatment, they scanned me every six months for three years, then every 12 months for two more. Drinking the contrast was terrible.
