It also happens to be a vehicle that goes on my list of “cars I’d take over a Crown Vic” (which turns out to be most vehicles). If the Fiesta died tomorrow and my insurer said “well, we’ll just give you one of these”, I wouldn’t even be upset.

The hybrid gets bigly big miles per gallon because it’s smaller than a Prius too.

Too bad we don’t get the wagon, which is on the same wheelbase as the sedan.

If I lived in Toronto again, I’d probably have one.

It certainly looks a lot better than the previous ranch-dressing-inspired generations.

I rented one a while back and I agree... not a bad car at all. And definitely way better than any Panther car.

I also found it felt more ‘polished’ compared to a Hyundai Elantra I rented.

I don’t think it was ever a bad car. Just that it doesn’t have faults nor things that stand out.

Hey, I have a Crown Vic and it is a fantastic car for what it is. Excellent road trip car, very reliable, handles decently, decent acceleration and a great family car. My brother has a 2017 Corolla that I have driven a few times, would take a Crown Vic or quite a few other cars over a Corolla. A Corolla (or Camry or Highlander or Avalon) is like driving the color beige. Reliable, good gas mileage , but sleep inducing.

I drove a Crown Vic for work once. I don’t understand the love for them. To me, they’re different answers to the same problem: reliable vehicles that can go far without much work.

I'd rather have a Prius. If I'm going basic transportation, you better believe I'm becoming a hupermiling enthusiast

In the greatest turn of events, Oppo will slowly become a hyper-miling enthusiast forum.

I hope not ... that’s what Whole Foods parking lots are for.

I remember the 80's versions ... actually pretty sporty, especially in twincam trim. I bet one of these with a turbo and limited-slip/torque vectoring diff would be a hoot.

Crown Vics are very comfortable. They also have decent RWD handling, and sound really surprisingly good. Especially if you have a Police Interceptor version.

To the point they weren’t really called Corollas in the domestic market, lol.

I actually rather like the new Corolla hatch in XSE trim.

You’re correct, it’s not a bad car, it’s a terrible car......

Can’t attest to the new one, but the 2012 Corolla S we had was the biggest POS that has ever inhabited our driveway ( well actually it spent most of its time in the shop, having engines and transmissions replaced under warranty ).

Except the Crown Vic will go far without much work while floating you down the road in comfort.

The Corolla may ( see my other reply ) go far without much work, but it will be a soul sucking shitcan the entire time.

I may be slightly biased thanks to numerous bad experiences with Toyota.
