R ented one of those in Vegas years ago - gotta say it still is my favorite traditional SUV I’ve ever had the opportunity to spend some time with.  With the “sport mode” on it held shifts just perfectly, decent punch, right size, very capable...

It immediately caught my attention. I think it’s so rad.

I feel like this era of Isuzu SUV is a good candidate for an under-the-radar overlanding rig. All the Toyota stuff from this era and before is now stupid expensive due to demand, ditto the suitable British metal, the American stuff isn’t great from the era if you don’t need 1/2 truck towing capability, and even the Montero options seem to have appreciated a bit recently (and there are so few left).

Very cool. But it’s a Trooper not an Amigo.

Yeah. This one is still priced a little high, but I kind of love it.

I had a 92 trooper with a manual, and it was one of my favorite vehicles. They’re good trucks and have a great greenhouse. Not sure how they are with the auto, but I would be willing to bet its a very solid vehicle.

V6 is thirsty, otherwise fine.
