While waiting for my roommate to hand me back two of my RAM sticks later on, I pulled the trigger on a new 2080Ti and a new power supply (found out 735W with an i9 isn’t exactly... Nice .)

Kinja'd!!!

... I’m still pondering if I should exchange it for an MSi unit, though.

Evga is great. Best customer service and support network. They make good cards. Swear by them since the gtx 560 days, which are the oldest card with win 10 support...which is good long term support! 2080 will last a long long time

Hence why I went with them again after my 1070 FTW. Sadly, Best Buy had these as the only option and I don’t... Exactly have a great track record with Reference Cards, haha.

I hate you (because I’m jealous) though I don’t think the additional cost justifies the upgrade from a 1080 just yet

Yeah, I’ve been tempted to update my 1070 now that it’s getting up in years, but the performance boost doesn’t seem worth it yet (especially in terms of performance pet watt, I like my system quiet) . Probably with next year’s cards...

I went to a 21:9 1440 monitor recently and my poor 1070 is just hanging on for life. The 2070 super is in my sights but I think that'll be a spring buy.
