Installed Bilstein 5100’s.
Original shocks were ancient and leaking, and Amazon offered me a set of Billy’s for $280. Sold.
It’s a very easy job overall. Don’t even need to remove the rear wheels. But I took my time because it’s been real hot and humid in San Diego.

Something I’ve often wondered about those Bilsteins: That’s not paint, is it? Kinda looks too dull to be chrome... Are the tubes galvanized? I don’t suppose they’d be stainless ...

They are zinc coated.

Much better. Considering how inexpensive they were I’m pretty pleased.

The cool thing is with Bilstein shocks is you can have them rebuilt and revalved to how you drive rather than replaced.

I just bought a QuickJack on the Costco special deal for these kinds of projects . Anxious to try it out on the Audi’s brake job.
Those Bilsteins look great.
