So I’m taking an online speech class for school and tried to upload my first assignment which was a video of a short presentation/speech , but all I got was a blank webpage. Long story short, after talking to tech support. Apparently the webpage isn’t working, because the webpage is suppose to record the video through a webcam a nd since my desktop doesn’t have a webcam, it just broke the page.

No big deal right? Except there’s not even an option to upload a video file that you’ve already created!

WTF how did we get here? Why can’t there just be an option to upload a file you already have? I swear, it’s like we’re regressing technologically.

You know what really grinds my gears? It’s 2019 and there still isn’t a good way to send large files.

It’s not a problem with the technology, it’s a problem with the person who designed the website. PEBCAK - problem exists between chair and keyboard.

I was thinking about that. I liked the whole “encode the data on butterfly DNA a nd send off a million butterflys in the hope that one of them reaches the recipient”.

It’s almost preferable to the alternatives. Uploading a video to YouTube, having YouTube mangle the quality, having a friend attempt to download the video with some 3rd party browser-based software... Just let me drag a file into an email. Or a text.

i work on hospital data systems and all too often the solution is to drive over to pick up a hard  drive .
