Picked up my new car the other week. I’ve been pleased with how small it feels when driving around. Parking next to a 2002 just kind of confirmed that the 2-series is indeed pretty compact.

Here’s a few more pictures of the new car. The engine is still in its break in period so not too much to talk about in terms of performance. Its comfy and handles well though. And I fit four chairs from Ikea in the trunk which made my girlfriend really really happy.

Congrats, correct transmission too!

EKEDALEN appears to be Ikea’s first furniture name without umlauts.

Excellent choice in everything, right size, colour, number of pedals. Very Good Car. Savour that first bang off the rev limiter

Congrats on the new car.

I’m shopping for a daily to replace the WRX and I’ve seriously considered trading both it and my 128i on an M2 specced much like yours and picking up a winter beater.  It’s so tempting, I’m afraid if test drive one I’ll be throwing my money and keys at them.

Thanks! I’m all about that M/T. Never owned an auto!

Ikea names will never not be at least just a little bit funny to me . At one point my friends and I were all playing some MMO and our thing was that everyone’s name had to be a piece of Ikea furnature. Our gu ild name was “The Swedish Inquisition. ”

Thanks, i’m pretty happy with it so far, it feels incredibly modern to me (i’ve been driving a 350Z for 13 years) while at the same time feeling very deliberately old school.

Here’s the one nit i’ll pick if you’re trying to talk yourself out of one: the steering feel. Don’t get me wrong, the steering is good on the car, it tells you everything you need to know and feels very intuitive in the way it weights up in a corner. However, the bumps and pavement imperfections that come through the wheel feel muted and/or artificial. They’re all accounted for, you can in fact feel whats happening under the tires, but each little bump and imperfection feels ever so slightly artificial .

Other than that though, i kind of have nothing but good things to say . Huge grin across my face any time I drive it.
