Neither party is as clever as they think they are. Elon seems to have some serious beef with Jalopnik though. Did I miss something?

1) Turbo, to me, just means fast, it doesn’t solely mean turbocharging. So, Jalopnik has been pretty dumb with that argument.

2) Elon Musk has probably put a lot of lives at risk because Autopilot isn’t. He’s a bit of a buffoon.

In any case, it’s adults in a shitfit on the internet that doesn’t matter and drags them both into the mud. Just another Thursday.

The Brands are trying to be snarky and failing at it.

I kind of wish that there were official, globally independent, non-partisan, worldwide group of Internet argument judges, and each squabble escalated to them would get a judgment call on who’s right, with a database that keeps score.

I mean, I also wish for a fleet of NSXes, Yaripode and Ford Raptors, so a man can dream

As a counterpoint to that, the judges would probably rule that no one wins and we all lose in these kinds of arguments.

If a civic has a turbo sticker running down the side but no turbo, there will be blood

I know it’s in the name, but everything that I can think of that uses “autopilot” does so in a fashion where human interaction is still needed. I can’t actually think of any examples where that’s not the case? So bad branding on Musks part, but seems to be pretty standard across industries unless I’m missing some large glaring example (totally possible).

Social media is so strange. It’s the best and worst thing for companies, and it’s really interesting to see some companies absolutely nail it (S lim Jim on IG or Wendy’s on Twitter are prime examples ) and others just get dragged through the coals based off of poor usage.

Tesla deserves a short, sweet, snarky burn about the problems with Autopilot. This wasn’t quite it.

Well, if judges can judge figure skating on both “Artistic merit” and “Technical merit” then we can have a dynamic decimal scoring system from 1-10 or whatever.

We are all losing anyway, we don’t stand to lose much else.

Admittedly I haven’t been paying much attention, but I am curious as to Tesla’s progress improving autopilot. While it wasn't perfect, the one time I used it about 18 months ago, it was definitely a mind-blowing experience

It’s an example of how turbo only refers to a turbo not the speed of a given object . If words dont correspond with their given meaning then what's the point?

As a nearly 25 year old, I’ve learned that English is a nonsense language, meanings change, and there’s no point in getting upset about it.

My controller for my Xbox had a turbo function but no turbocharger. Graphics cards have turbo boosts. The word has moved beyond turbocharger.

Eon Musk is the tech guy who went to college, took a philosophy and/or logic course, promptly passed them with a C and came to believe in their own brilliance after finding success in the tech world. Jalopnik is just joining the choo choo train of brands trying to be #cool #edgy

How does autopilot work on aircraft and boats?

It requires constant human interaction and for you to pay attention. Elon Musk is totally right here.
